Responsible use
Everything we sell is for protecting your own privacy and your own space. That line matters to us, so it is written down.

What these products are for
Finding cameras pointed at you. Securing a door you are staying behind. Calling attention if you feel unsafe. Keeping your own documents and cards out of sight.
What they are not for
Recording, watching, or tracking another person. Entering a room or property you have no right to be in. Defeating locks or alarms that are not yours. Any use that intimidates, stalks, or harms someone.
We do not stock covert cameras or listening devices, and we will not help source them.
Local law comes first
Rules on alarms, sprays, and detection tools vary by state, city, airline, and country. Check what applies where you live and where you are travelling before you buy or pack an item. You are responsible for that check.
What a room check can and cannot do
A careful check plus a detector finds the common cases. Neither proves a room is clear. A portable lock or alarm slows an entry and makes noise. Neither guarantees entry is prevented.
If you feel unsafe, leave and get help. No product replaces that decision, and nothing on this site is legal or security advice.
If you find something
Leave the device in place, photograph it, and report it in writing to the host, the front desk, or the booking platform. Police can take a report if you want one.
Telling us about misuse
If you believe an order was placed for one of the uses above, write to hello@privacysweep.org. We can refuse or cancel an order.
